Hello there, I'm Lukas
I work as a project manager, a parent, and an expat based in Zürich, Switzerland.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary contract gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Switzerland wasn't in our long-range plans. As with many expatriate moves, it began as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far more significant.
The early months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, new expectations. Day-to-day tasks seemed more complex than they should.
The Adjustment Period
We faced culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. But gradually, routines formed. We found places that worked for us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt stable.
Why I Built Ridge Craft Works
Most information online was either corporate-level relocation advice or surface-level tourism material. What was missing was honest, day-to-day family perspective.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical guidance grounded in real life in Switzerland.
